The 58-year-old actress appeared at the Chopard Universe Gala in a dramatic strapless creation by Gaurav Gupta, featuring a structured bodice, voluminous skirt, and sweeping train—exactly the kind of outfit the festival’s new rules prohibit.

The updated guidelines restrict nudity and ban large, extravagant dresses with trains.

Berry had earlier shared her frustration, saying she was forced to change her outfit for official events because her original gown’s train was “too big.” While she acknowledged that banning nudity may be fair, the restrictions on dress volume sparked criticism.
