Domhnall Gleeson opened up about the advice he received from John Krasinski before joining *The Office* spinoff, *The Paper*. Gleeson shared that both Krasinski and Steve Carell encouraged him to take the role.

Krasinski’s key advice was simple but powerful: just do it. Carell, who previously worked with Gleeson, echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the opportunity to work with Greg Daniels, the creator behind both *The Office* and *The Paper*, as a rare and rewarding experience.

Gleeson expressed his happiness about accepting the role, saying he believes the show has something truly special. He added that if Krasinski and Carell had warned against the project, he might have reconsidered, but their positive experiences helped confirm his decision.

*The Paper* is set to premiere this September on Peacock and also stars Sabrina Impacciatore and returning *Office* veteran Oscar Nuñez. The show is a mockumentary-style comedy centered on a struggling Midwestern newspaper, *The Truth Teller*, and its dedicated staff working to revive its former glory.

At NBC’s Upfront presentation, Gleeson described his character Ned as someone with an optimistic belief that he can restore the paper’s success.

Nuñez joked about his character’s move to a larger city, Toledo, Ohio, adding a humorous touch to the spinoff’s setting. The cast also includes Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key.
