Alec Baldwin is opening up about his health journey and the emotional challenges he’s faced in recent years.
In a recent episode of *The Baldwins* podcast, the 67-year-old actor joined his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, for a yoga session — something he rarely does. Hilaria noted that fitness has never been his thing, despite her efforts over the years.
“We’ve tried working out together, but it’s not really his style,” she said, adding that their different backgrounds — hers in sports, his in theater — may play a role.
Alec then reflected on how the events of the past year, particularly the *Rust* shooting incident and the legal battle that followed (with charges ultimately dropped in 2024), took a serious toll on both his physical and mental health.
“It really affected me. I used to have energy, even when something hurt. But this drained me,” he shared. “In a year, I want to feel different — stronger, healthier.”
He also looked back at the extreme diet he followed while preparing for his 2013 role in *Blue Jasmine*. “I cut out pasta, potatoes, candy, and sugar — I probably lost 25 pounds,” he said. “I looked slim in the film.”
Hilaria has already seen some change. “You’re at the gym more, and calmer,” she said. “We’re learning how to live again.”
