Gerry Turner, known from *The Golden Bachelor*, recently opened up about living with an incurable form of bone marrow cancer called Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia.
Despite the diagnosis, the 73-year-old remains optimistic and full of life.
Speaking on the *Bachelor Happy Hour* podcast, Turner shared that his daily routine hasn’t changed and he currently doesn’t require treatment—just regular blood tests every six months.
He said his doctor expects him to live a few more years, adding to his sense of hope. Turner expressed that the diagnosis has shifted his mindset: “It’s a privilege to live like you’re dying.”
He now embraces every opportunity, saying yes to experiences without hesitation, and is more emotionally open than ever.
Discovered after a shoulder injury, Turner’s condition transforms white blood cells into cancer cells that build up in the bone marrow.
Although there is no cure, he’s found peace by focusing on family, spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law, and granddaughters, and living in the moment.
Inspired by Tim McGraw’s song *Live Like You’re Dying*, Turner has made it his mission to enjoy life to the fullest, with no regrets.
