Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at the age of 88, leaving the world in mourning. Tributes from world leaders and celebrities poured in, honoring the late pontiff’s legacy.

The Vatican has announced that his funeral will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. local time. His body, currently at Casa Santa Marta, will be moved to St. Peter’s Basilica for public viewing on Wednesday.

While the official guest list hasn’t been released, several major figures have confirmed their attendance. U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania have announced they’ll be traveling to Rome for the service. French President Emmanuel Macron also confirmed his participation, stating, “We will attend the Pope’s funeral as we should.”

Belgium’s King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were the first royals to confirm their presence, expressing deep sorrow at the Pope’s passing. U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to attend, though Buckingham Palace is still awaiting formal details about royal representation. King Charles has not yet confirmed.

Notably, Argentine President Javier Milei, despite previously criticizing the Pope, has confirmed he’ll attend, acknowledging Francis’ Argentinian roots. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who met with the Pope multiple times, is also expected to be there.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will attend, along with Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
