Anna Camp had a playful reaction after landing her role on Season 5 of Netflix’s hit series “You.” Speaking exclusively to Page Six at the show’s New York City premiere, the actress revealed that her first question after getting cast was whether she’d be paid double for playing twins.
“As soon as I got the call, I said, ‘I’m learning double the lines, do I get double the money?’” she joked. Although the answer was no, Camp said she had to ask.
The 42-year-old star, known for “Pitch Perfect,” takes on the challenge of portraying Raegan and Maddie Lockwood, identical twins with very different personalities — one sweet and naive, the other scheming and cruel.
Camp shared that she had always admired actors who tackled dual roles and was thrilled to experience it herself. “Learning two sets of lines, switching between hair, makeup, and wardrobe — it was exciting and challenging,” she said.
Watching herself act opposite her twin character for the first time was a proud moment, Camp admitted. As for which twin she preferred playing, she couldn’t pick, saying both roles were uniquely enjoyable.
The Season 5 premiere also drew stars like Penn Badgley — who plays lead character Joe Goldberg — along with Charlotte Ritchie and Madeline Brewer.
Pete Ploszek, who portrays Harrison, the clueless husband of Raegan, shared a laugh when asked if he used any real-life inspiration for the role.
The final season of “You” is now available to stream on Netflix.
