Chelsea Handler Reveals the Shocking Reason Why She’s Done Interviewing Celebrities…

Chelsea Handler recently shared why she moved away from celebrity interviews during a Q\&A at the 2025 PHM Healthfront Conference in New York City.

The comedian and author, known for her late-night talk show *Chelsea Lately*, explained that after a two-year stint in therapy, she wanted a change in how she connected with people.

She felt “tapped out” from celebrity interviews and sought a deeper, more personal connection. “How can I do something where I’m talking to real people, not celebrities?” she recalled asking herself.

Handler’s therapy experience, particularly with her therapist Dan Siegel, significantly influenced this shift. She explained that therapy was so impactful that she treated it like “getting my master’s degree.”

Siegel first appeared on Handler’s *Life Will Be the De ath of Me* podcast and later joined her *Dear Chelsea* podcast. Handler expressed that not everyone could afford such therapy but emphasized its importance in her personal growth.

With this new perspective, Handler transformed her podcast into a space for real-life advice on topics like love, sex, family, and loss.

While she still invites some celebrities onto the show, the format now emphasizes diverse guest appearances and genuine conversations.

Handler’s ability to offer unsolicited advice became a natural part of the podcast, allowing her to connect with listeners beyond celebrity gossip. Her latest comedy special, *Chelsea Handler: The Feeling*, is currently streaming on Netflix.
