French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, will visit the UK from July 8 to 10, marking a historic state visit after 17 years.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that they will stay at Windsor Castle due to ongoing refurbishments at Buckingham Palace. The couple will attend a state banquet at the royal residence.

This visit marks Macron’s first state visit to the UK since he took office in 2017. The last French state visit took place in March 2008, when President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, were hosted at Windsor Castle by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles and Queen Camilla share a close relationship with the French President and his wife. The royal couple previously visited France in 2023, where King Charles emphasized the importance of UK-France relations in his speech.

He talked about the shared commitment to tackling global challenges, including climate change, and strengthening the historic bond between the two countries.
During their 2023 visit, King Charles and Queen Camilla participated in ceremonies at the Arc de Triomphe, met with President Macron at the Élysée Palace, and attended a state banquet at the Palace of Versailles.
The upcoming visit comes ahead of a potential invitation for former President Donald Trump to meet King Charles in September.

This state visit is a significant step in continuing the diplomatic ties between the UK and France and highlights the enduring relationship between the two nations.
