Kate Middleton and Prince William hosted their first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace on May 20, marking Kate’s return to the event scene after a two-year absence.
The Princess of Wales, 43, skipped last year’s garden parties while undergoing cancer treatment, making this appearance a notable comeback.

Dressed in a striking yellow dress by Emilia Wickstead and a hat by Philip Treacy, Kate ensured she stood out among the thousands of attendees — a tradition inspired by the late Queen Elizabeth, who wore bold colors so she could be seen by all.
Kate and William, both looking regal, mingled with guests recognized for their public service and support of royal causes. They were joined by several royal family members, including Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

The royals followed custom by arriving at 4 p.m., standing for the national anthem before heading to the palace lawn to greet guests over tea and sweets.
Special guests included the family of Liz Hatton, a young photographer who passed away from cancer, and Steven Frank, a Holocaust survivor Kate had previously photographed.
The event also welcomed Tony Hudgell, a young boy who previously missed his invitation due to traffic.

The appearance follows a quieter period for Kate, who had earlier opted for toned-down looks to focus attention on her charity work. This garden party signals her graceful return to public royal duties alongside her husband and extended family.
