The Unexpected Name Prince George Calls Prince William Has Royal Fans in Shock…

Royal family moments were on full display during Monday’s VE Day celebrations as Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, joined their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, for the military parade and flypast.

The children watched the event from the Queen Victoria Memorial dais alongside their parents before joining senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the aerial display.

During the flypast, Prince George was spotted affectionately calling his father “Papa” while playing a guessing game about the aircraft. Lipreader Nicola Hickling reported that George asked William, “When should they start, Papa?” to which William replied, “It’ll start in a second.”

This isn’t the first time the royal children have used the name. In their first personal Father’s Day message shared on social media, George, Charlotte, and Louis wrote, “We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day. G, C & L.”

Family nicknames are common in the royal household. The late Queen Elizabeth II was lovingly called “Lilibet” as a child, a name later given to Prince Harry and Meghan’s daughter. The Wales children also referred to their great-grandmother as “Gan-Gan.”

Prince William affectionately calls Princess Charlotte “mignonette,” a French term meaning “little darling,” while Kate is known to call her “Lottie.”

For Prince Louis, Kate uses the nickname “Lou Bugs,” a term she was heard using during his first official outing with the Scouts in 2023 and again in a 2024 family video.
