In the first episode of Meghan Markle’s new podcast, she opened up about a ‘scary’ health condition she faced after her pregnancies.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her podcast *Confessions of a Female Founder* on April 8, where she discussed various aspects of her life, including health issues she encountered post-pregnancy.
The podcast comes amidst a busy period for Meghan, with new projects such as her Netflix show *With Love, Meghan* and her lifestyle brand *As Ever*.
During the episode, Meghan spoke with Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of the dating app Bumble, where they connected over their shared experiences with postpartum health struggles, particularly preeclampsia.
Meghan described the condition as a “scary” experience and spoke about the challenges of coping with it while maintaining her public life.
She shared how, despite managing the condition, she was still trying to show up for her family, especially her children, while the world remained unaware of the difficulties she faced in private.
Meghan emphasized the significant medical scares she dealt with during that time. Wolfe Herd echoed her sentiment, describing the situation as “life or death.”
Postpartum preeclampsia, a rare condition that can develop shortly after childbirth, involves high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine. If untreated, it can lead to severe complications like seizures.
Symptoms include high blood pressure, severe headaches, visual disturbances, pain under the ribs, nausea, shortness of breath, and reduced urination.
Meghan’s podcast will feature eight episodes, highlighting diverse female founders and their entrepreneurial journeys, alongside Meghan’s own experiences.
The podcast’s debut comes as her husband, Prince Harry, arrived in the UK to face a legal battle concerning taxpayer-funded security protection.
