Barron Trump, 19, has found creative ways to keep in touch with his college friends at NYU without giving out his personal phone number.
Sources reveal that the son of Donald and Melania Trump — who is constantly escorted by Secret Service agents on campus — originally used Discord to chat with classmates but has now added Xbox as his go-to communication method.
“He’s expanded his options,” a source shared. “It’s now his favorite way to stay in touch.”
Due to tight security and privacy concerns, Barron avoids handing out his phone number. “If his number got out, it would be chaos — nonstop calls and endless number changes,” the insider explained.
Instead, he connects through gaming platforms, giving his gamer tag only to people he knows personally. “It’s a gamer bro thing,” the source said.
Although Barron is rarely seen on campus — quickly moving between classes under Secret Service watch — gaming apps like Xbox allow him to stay social. These platforms offer both messaging and voice chat options.
Donald Trump has praised his son’s tech skills in the past, even sharing a story where Barron outsmarted his attempts to shut down his laptop. “He’s got incredible tech abilities,” Trump said.
