Meghan Markle Shocks Fans With New Family Surname — and the Deep Meaning Behind It…

Meghan Markle recently opened up about her family’s life, revealing that she, Prince Harry, and their children now share a meaningful surname.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, who shares son Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibet, 3, with Harry, discussed the importance of their shared last name as she promoted her new Netflix lifestyle series, *With Love, Meghan*, which debuted on March 4.

In a conversation with *People*, Meghan talked about her creative projects, her marriage, and how they are raising their kids in Montecito, California.

She explained that the Sussex surname — given to her and Harry by Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day in 2018 — holds deep emotional value for her.

“It’s our family name, and I didn’t realize how significant it would feel until we had children,” Meghan said. “I love that Archie, Lili, Harry, and I all share it. It means so much to me.”

She also described the Sussex name as a meaningful part of their love story.

In her Netflix series, Meghan reflected on motherhood, saying: “When your kids reach a certain age, you rediscover parts of yourself. It’s incredibly joyful.”

She added that while her show highlights domestic life, she doesn’t see herself as a traditional homemaker.

“I like mixing things up,” she explained. “Even if it’s takeout, I’ll still plate it nicely. It’s all about doing things with love.”

Since stepping back from royal duties five years ago, Meghan shared how much life has evolved: “Archie was just a baby then. Raising children changes you so much as a woman.”

Looking ahead, she said with excitement: “Imagine what the next five or ten years will bring. In ten years, Archie will be driving!”
