Elsa Pataky has opened up about what it takes to maintain a strong, lasting marriage with her husband of nearly 15 years, Chris Hemsworth.
In a recent interview, the 48-year-old Spanish actress shared insights into the couple’s relationship, which began in 2010 and quickly blossomed into marriage by the end of that year.
Together, they raise three children: daughter India, nearly 13, and 11-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan.
According to Pataky, sustaining a marriage requires ongoing effort and a willingness to adapt. “Marriage needs constant work, and you learn a lot through the difficult times,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of growing together and ensuring that both partners remain aligned in life. “You have to keep crossing paths and make time to reconnect.”
Pataky also believes in finding joy in the little moments and staying curious about each other. Humor plays a big role in their relationship — she admires Hemsworth’s ability to make her laugh even in tense situations.
The couple has long followed a rule of not spending more than two weeks apart, though Pataky admitted this has become more challenging now that their children are older and have their own preferences.
Reflecting on what keeps them close, she highlighted shared fun, flexibility, and mutual understanding as key elements. Pataky recently appeared in *Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga*, while Hemsworth continues to balance a thriving film career with family life.
Their enduring bond serves as a reminder that even fairy-tale marriages require real effort behind the scenes.
