Meghan Markle appears to be sending a subtle but powerful message following Prince Harry’s recent legal loss.
After the Duke of Sussex’s appeal to reinstate taxpayer-funded UK security was denied, Meghan posted a rare black-and-white family photo on Instagram.
The image shows Harry with their children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, walking through the garden of their Montecito home.
With their backs to the camera, Harry is seen holding Archie’s hand while carrying Lilibet on his shoulders. The post had no caption, and comments were turned off.
The timing of the photo comes just after a UK court reaffirmed its decision to deny Harry publicly funded security, arguing it was inappropriate since he stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Harry said he was “devastated” by the outcome, expressing concerns for his family’s safety.
Speaking to the BBC, he criticized those who viewed the ruling as a victory and questioned whether anyone, including his family and the government, cared about keeping him safe.
Harry also admitted he’s unlikely to return to the UK with Meghan and their children, citing ongoing security concerns. Meghan hasn’t been back to England since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
The prince, who says he still loves and misses the UK, added that he regrets not being able to share his homeland with his children.
He also revealed he remains estranged from his father, King Charles III, and shared hope for reconciliation, especially in light of the King’s cancer diagnosis.
