Ellen DeGeneres has officially embraced a quieter life in the English countryside. The former talk show host, 67, and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, 52, relocated from Los Angeles to the upscale Cotswolds region in late 2024.
The couple purchased an \$18 million farmhouse — well above the asking price — in the celebrity-favored area about two hours from London.

Ellen recently shared a lighthearted Instagram video with her 136 million followers, offering fans a peek into their new life.
The clip shows her trying to mow the lawn on her estate, featuring her fresh brunette hair and a comical moment when she needs help operating the mower. “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right,” Ellen captioned the video.

Although the couple appears to be adjusting well, their move hasn’t been entirely drama-free. Earlier this year, they reportedly faced tension with local neighbors over a planned extension to their property.
Despite this, Ellen recently sold one of her remaining U.S. properties, signaling a full commitment to life in the UK.
The Cotswolds, known for its rolling hills and luxurious charm, has long attracted A-list residents. Ellen and Portia now share the neighborhood with the likes of the Beckhams, Kate Moss, and Jeremy Clarkson. Even King Charles and Queen Camilla reside nearby at Highgrove House.

Since settling in, the couple has been spotted visiting local pubs and attending nearby social events, fully immersing themselves in their new environment.
