Demi Moore revealed that she had a strong feeling she would lose the Best Actress Oscar to Mikey Madison — and she was right.
In an interview with *Time*, the 62-year-old actress shared that during a commercial break right before the award was announced, she whispered to her manager, “I think it’s going to Mikey,” even though she couldn’t explain how she knew.

Although Moore appeared disappointed when Madison’s name was called, she claimed she felt calm and grounded in that moment. “I didn’t feel gutted,” she said, explaining she was trusting the outcome and felt peace despite the loss.
Moore had been considered the favorite to win, especially after securing major awards throughout the season, including the Golden Globe, SAG Award, and Critics’ Choice Award for her performance in *Substance*.

Sources close to Moore said she was “really hopeful” going into the ceremony and admitted she found the outcome “heartbreaking,” despite being happy for Madison.
“Demi is taking this loss very hard,” a source told Page Six. “She really believed this was her moment to finally win an Oscar.” Still, Moore remained gracious, publicly congratulating Madison and expressing excitement for her future.

In the days that followed, Moore also reflected on the journey, thanking the cast, crew, and fans of *Substance*. Despite missing out on the Oscar, she said she’s filled with gratitude and remains proud of what the film achieved.
