Brenda Vaccaro, now 85, is looking back on one of Hollywood’s most iconic romances—and she’s not holding back her admiration for her ex, Michael Douglas.
In a recent interview, the *Nonnas* actress gushed about the man she dated for seven years during the 1970s, calling him “wonderful” and confessing, “I do still adore him.”

Their love story began when they co-starred in the 1971 film *Summertree*. Shortly after, the couple moved from New York to California together, chasing their acting dreams. “We were such a gorgeous couple.
Breathtaking,” Brenda recalled, reflecting on their youthful glow and the excitement of starting their careers side by side. Douglas soon landed his breakout role in *The Streets of San Francisco*, and the two seemed destined for stardom.

Although their romance eventually ended, the affection clearly never faded. Vaccaro has been happily married to her fourth husband, Guy Hector, since 1986. Meanwhile, Douglas married Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000, with whom he shares two children.
Still, Vaccaro’s reflections reveal a powerful bond that left a lasting imprint on her heart. “Everything that was supposed to happen, happened,” she said of their early days together.
Now starring in *Nonnas*—a heartwarming Netflix film about a restaurant run by grandmothers—Vaccaro proves that age hasn’t dimmed her sparkle or her memories of a love that once lit up Hollywood.

Their story may be in the past, but the affection clearly remains timeless.
