Angelina Jolie made a glamorous return to the Cannes Film Festival, attending the Trophée Chopard dinner on May 16 as the event’s official “godmother.”
This marks her first Cannes appearance since 2011. The actress, who recently wrapped up awards season promoting Maria, turned heads in a flowing white one-sleeve gown with a subtle slit, complemented by silver earrings, soft makeup, and a rosy lip.

The Trophée Chopard dinner, hosted on Carlton Beach, celebrates up-and-coming talent in cinema. Jolie presented the night’s honors to actors Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett, alongside event hosts including Chopard’s Caroline Scheufele and Cannes execs Iris Knobloch and Thierry Frémaux.
Jolie’s Cannes appearance follows a stylish awards season for Maria, where she portrayed legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Her fashion highlights included an elegant black halter gown at Palm Springs and a lace Elie Saab creation at the Critics Choice Awards.
She also attended the 2025 Golden Globes in a dazzling gown alongside her daughter Zahara, who wore a coordinating look.
Off-screen, Jolie recently celebrated a major career moment with daughter Vivienne, who worked behind the scenes on the Broadway musical The Outsiders.

Jolie, a lead producer on the show, joined Vivienne at the 2024 Tony Awards where the production won Best Musical. Jolie’s green velvet Versace gown subtly matched Vivienne’s emerald outfit.
With her elegant Cannes return, Jolie continues to blend Hollywood glamour with meaningful creative work — both on stage and screen — and remains a powerful figure in entertainment.
