Jennifer Lopez is set to host the 2025 American Music Awards and says she’s not just emceeing — she’s also there as a true fan.
In an exclusive interview, Lopez shares her excitement about the night, especially seeing Janet Jackson perform live.

Jackson will be honored with the ICON Award, marking her first televised performance since 2018. “I’m a huge Janet fan,” Lopez admits, adding that she’s thrilled to see her being recognized.
The awards show will air live from the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on May 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. Lopez also looks forward to a tribute performance by Gloria Estefan, noting her impact as a crossover pioneer in music.
Returning as host for the first time since 2015, Lopez reflects on how far she’s come. Watching clips of her early performances, she says it brought back powerful memories and pride in her journey.

“It all feels like yesterday,” she shares. Hosting the AMAs, which are voted on by fans, makes the experience even more meaningful to her.
Other performers for the night include Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Renée Rapp, Benson Boone, Lainey Wilson — and Lopez herself.
