Jimmy Fallon’s Painfully Awkward Nicole Kidman Date Just Got a Hilarious New Update…

Jimmy Fallon’s infamous failed date with Nicole Kidman resurfaced once again—this time, thanks to actress Isabela Merced. During her May 20 appearance on *The Tonight Show*, Merced jokingly referenced Fallon’s awkward past with Kidman, much to the talk show host’s embarrassment.

While chatting about *The Last of Us*, in which Merced stars, Fallon remarked on how scary the game was. Merced fired back, asking if it was the same game he was playing when he “bombed” his date with Kidman.

The audience erupted in laughter, and Fallon tried to brush it off, joking they were out of time. He clarified that they had actually played *Mario Kart* that day and sarcastically thanked Merced for bringing it up.

Fallon has previously shared the story in a 2015 interview with Kidman. He was unaware she was romantically interested in him when they were introduced by a mutual friend.

Kidman recalled arriving at Fallon’s apartment, only to be met with awkward silence, video games, and no conversation. She walked away convinced he wasn’t interested, even questioning if he might be gay.

Merced admitted the 2015 clip is her favorite moment from Fallon’s show, calling it hilariously cringe-worthy. Fallon agreed it was painfully awkward and admitted he was extremely nervous during the encounter.

Despite the throwback embarrassment, Fallon praised Kidman’s eventual marriage to country star Keith Urban, saying she “made a better choice.” Fallon has been married to Nancy Juvonen since 2007, and both stars now enjoy happy family lives.
