Pete Davidson Drops Jaw-Dropping Amount Spent on Tattoo Removal: ‘Uncomfortably High’

Pete Davidson is no stranger to tattoos, but now he’s revealing just how much he’s spent on removing them.

In a candid interview with *Variety* on April 23, the 31-year-old comedian shared that he’s already spent $200,000 on tattoo removal, with just 30% of the process completed.

“It’s a pretty uncomfortable amount to disclose, but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it,” he said.

Davidson explained that it could take up to another 10 years to fully remove his tattoos, as he still has his torso and back left to tackle.

The comedian’s decision to start removing the tattoos came from a period of his life when he wasn’t in the best mental state. “I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” he admitted.

For Davidson, the tattoos were a reflection of a version of himself he no longer identifies with. “When I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure,” he said.

“So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain.”

Since starting the removal process in 2020, Davidson has been open about how painful it is.

He compared the process to “burning off a layer of your skin” and warned others to think carefully about getting tattoos they might later regret. Despite the pain, Davidson is determined to “clean slate it” and move forward.
