In a video posted to Instagram on May 4, the former talk show host is seen riding a lawn mower with wife Portia de Rossi behind the camera.

“Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right,” DeGeneres wrote in the caption, showing off both her new hair and country lifestyle.

Just days earlier, on May 1, DeGeneres shared another glimpse of their life abroad—this time during a rowing adventure. She jokingly highlighted their rookie mistakes and teased Portia’s rowing credentials with her trademark humor.

DeGeneres, once a dominant force on daytime television, retreated from the public eye following a 2020 scandal where former employees alleged a toxic workplace environment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

She addressed the controversy in her 2023 Netflix comedy special *For Your Approval*, candidly acknowledging the backlash.

“I got kicked out of show business for being mean,” she quipped, adding that it was the second time—referencing the criticism she faced after coming out as gay in the 1990s.

In the special, she revealed she went to therapy to navigate the fallout, lightheartedly noting that even Elmo seemed to turn on her.
